Liebe Leserinnen und Leser,
am ersten Freitag im März feiert man weltweit den „Weltgebetstag der Frauen“.
Die Idee des Weltgebetstags: Ein Gebet wandert über 24 Stunden lang um den Erdball und verbindet Frauen in mehr als 150 Ländern der Welt miteinander!
Über Konfessions- und Ländergrenzen hinweg engagieren sich christliche Frauen in der Bewegung des Weltgebetstags. Gemeinsam beten und handeln sie dafür, dass Frauen und Mädchen überall auf der Welt in Frieden, Gerechtigkeit und Würde leben können. In diesem Jahr ist das Weltgebetstagsland Nigeria. Das Titelthema heißt „Kommt, bringt eure Last“. Das ist für unsere Partner in Nigeria und für uns im Länderausschuss Nigeria natürlich eine tolle Gelegenheit, mehr voneinander zu lernen und unsere Arbeit bekannt zu machen.
So sind wir in den letzten Monaten gemeinsam unterwegs, tauschen Rezepte aus, bieten Ländervorträge und Materialien an und legen ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die Lebenssituation der Frauen und Mädchen in Nigeria. In der Northern Zone wurde der Weltgebetstag vom YMCA bisher nicht gefeiert, dieses Jahr wird also der erste gemeinsame Weltgebetstag (zentral und online) geplant.

on the first Friday in March, the “Women’s World Day of Prayer” is celebrated worldwide.
The idea behind the World Day of Prayer: A prayer travels around the globe for 24 hours, connecting women in more than 150 countries around the world!
Christian women across denominational and national boundaries are involved in the World Day of Prayer movement. Together, they pray and take action so that women and girls everywhere in the world can live in peace, justice, and dignity. This year, the World Day of Prayer country is Nigeria. The theme is “Come, bring your burden.” This is of course a great opportunity for our partners in Nigeria and for us in the Nigeria Country Committee to learn more about each other and to publicize our work.
So in recent months, we have been traveling together, exchanging recipes, offering country presentations and materials, and paying special attention to the living conditions of women and girls in Nigeria. In the Northern Zone, the YMCA has not celebrated World Day of Prayer before, so this year the first joint World Day of Prayer (central and online) is being planned.
